As well as relying on our individual fundraisers we encourage groups of people and organisations to get involved with Mayhew and the work we do.
Here are a selection of ways to get your organisation involved.
We can work to bring together the marketing objectives of your company and the charitable objectives of Mayhew to form a partnership that benefits both parties.
We usually ask for sponsorship of exclusive projects such as:
These activities bring a host of benefits such as increasing brand awareness and generating PR for your company. It can also help reach your target audience, motivate staff or show commitment to the local community.
New opportunities for sponsorship arise all the time, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss.
Volunteering creates positive team building experiences for your employees while also providing invaluable assistance for not-for-profit organisations.
Mayhew is lucky to have a number of businesses that have linked up with us already in this way, but we are always seeking ways to create more partnerships which in turn helps to make sure that maximum time and resources are spent on helping animals and their carers to continue the work we do, in the Home and beyond through our outreach initiatives.
Developing Community Partnerships
Provides companies with a clear way to demonstrate their commitment to helping the local community in which they work. Employees are excellent ambassadors for your company and their involvement in local volunteering generates positive attitudes towards your organisation.
Building a Committed Workforce
Team building exercises increases employee job satisfaction, which improves corporate culture and the recruitment and retention of employees in the long term. Volunteer projects provide employees with a break from the office, while having fun collaborating with colleagues whilst making a meaningful contribution to society.
Corporate volunteering helps to break down social barriers in communities, which in turn enables employees and local people in London to exchange ideas and develop a better understanding of the social issues that exist today, not just those related to companion animals.
While we aren’t able to accommodate any corporate volunteer days at the Home at the moment, we do have a wide range of fundraising events for you and your team to get involved in, from sporty fundraising events such as running the Hackney Half Marathon or less sweaty ones like running a stall at our events.
We have a team at Mayhew dedicated to organising and assisting in these events, so you will receive all the support you may need plus fundraising material such as t-shirts and banners.
Our home is based in Kensal Green, in one of the most deprived London boroughs, which also happens to be only a few stops away from most major business districts in central London. By partnering with us, your employees will have a chance to make a positive impact on a community that is very close to home.

Employee fundraising is a great way to create team goals and shared achievements, which is excellent for staff morale. It also provides your company with interesting and informative stories to tell your customers, suppliers and the local community.
There are a range of ways we can work together including:
We are always happy to come and talk to your company about what we do and/or a group of your staff can visit the animal home. As soon as they have heard about all the great work we do, they will be chewing at the bit to get involved!
You can give through your pay on a regular basis – as these donations are deducted by your employer’s payroll department before tax, payroll giving is a tax effective way of giving.
For example, if you wanted the donation amount to the charity to be £5, if you were a standard rate tax payer you would pay just £4 directly from your pay and if you are a higher rate tax payer you would pay just £3.
Mayhew is a part of a consortium of five animal charities with the aim of raising money for animals in need through payroll giving, amongst other ways. This organisation is called Together for Animals.
You need to check that your employer offers a payroll giving scheme.
Mayhew is entirely reliant on the generosity of people, so your donation really will make a difference.
We can help you develop and fulfil your Corporate Social Responsibility goals and elevate your brand within the animal lovers’ community.
Wag your way to a stress free working environment! Donate funds to have our TheraPaws dogs come to your office and help your staff de-stress!

If your budgets cannot stretch to making a Corporate donation, why not look at donating a Gift in Kind instead?
The areas where companies have supported us in this area before are by donating:
However, if you have a Gift in Kind idea you would like to pose to us, please do let us know as we’ll find a good use for any gifts we receive no matter how big or small!
We are very grateful to our current corporate partners for their generous support – be it through donations, gifts in kind, sponsorship, one-off fundraising events or being a charity of the year partner.
If your company would like to support Mayhew, please contact Duschanca Singh on 020 8206 5877 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how to work with us.
Our partners, Pedigree and Whiskas, leading pet food brands in the UK, continue to support animal welfare organisations by supplying us with dog and cat food to help feed our animals.
Pets at Home are the UK’s largest pet shop with a massive range of pet supplies.
We are working locally with the Greenford branch through their ‘Support Adoption For Pets Charity of the Year Partnership Scheme’. This partnership allows us to raise funds in-store, as well as awareness at meet and greet events, educating the customers on cat and dog welfare.
Our dog loving friends at Butternut Box are supporting the upkeep of our Kennels to ensure all the dogs in our care are in a safe, warm and comfortable environment, with lots of love and attention from our Kennels Team until they find their forever homes.
As pet owners and animal lovers, ProtectaPet know a happy pet equals a happy owner. They have designed innovative fencing that enables your pet to access a safe outdoor territory. ProtectaPet will donate 10% of your DIY order value and 2% of your Professional Installation Value to Mayhew.
At Mayhew our vision is a society where animals are treated and cared for with respect. We believe pet insurance is an important part of being a responsible pet owner. Looking after a pet is exciting and rewarding for both of you. Sadly pets, young and old, can fall ill or get injured at any time and the cost of treatment can become expensive.
To give you both the best start possible and make the rehoming process as smooth as possible, we work in close partnership with Petplan®, the UK’s No.1 pet insurer to provide you with 4 weeks’ free insurance with Petplan when adopting your new pet from us.
Furthermore, when you adopt an animal from Mayhew, you will be provided with 4 weeks’ free Petplan insurance. If you continue onto a full policy with Petplan, 10% of the premium goes straight back to Mayhew and a further 10% each year you renew your policy.*

Our animal lover friends over at The Breakfast Club, Angel branch, partnered up with us as their ‘Charity of the Year’. They donated profits from their ‘Green is Good’ smoothies in return for cat cuddles and dog walks, helping both our cattery and kennel staff with their daily duties.
We were delighted to be the chosen Local Charity of the Year 2016/2017 by M&S Kilburn Simply Food. The staff at M&S Kilburn supported us by holding fundraising events such as bake sales and breakfasts for staff, in-store collections and grocery packing days which raises funds as well as awareness of our work. Staff also gave their time to volunteer at some of our events.
