The Mayhew has received a very generous £5000 from players of a charity lottery.
The cheque was presented last month from the People’s Postcode Trust – a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
The money will help students undertaking a work based Diploma in Animal Care and Customer Service.
Trusts Officer, Sophia Casciato, said: “We are really grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for this amazing grant. These vital funds will really help our students with their training programme at The Mayhew.”
Since 2009, People’s Postcode Trust has awarded almost £10 million to around 1500 projects all over the Great Britain. The Trust has supported The Mayhew since 2014 with grants totalling £15,000. Players play with their postcodes to win cash prizes whilst raising money for good causes.
Calum Munro, Trust Assistant at People’s Postcode Lottery, added: “We are delighted that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have awarded funding to support Mayhew animals. Players love supporting charities such as The Mayhew and the work they do to save animals. We are glad the funding is being put to good use.”
