Comedian Ricky Gervais gamely donned a black nose to show his support for an animal rescue centre in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Ricky mingled with Dr Abdul Jalil Mohammadzai and staff from the Mayhew at the fundraising tea party held in Hampstead by supporter Angela Humphrys.
Ricky and guests wore the noses in advance of National Wetnose Day on September 26, which will raise funds for struggling animal rescue centres around the UK.
As part of Mayhew International’s work, Dr Mohammadzai regularly trains local vets at the shelter, Nowzad, in spay and neuter techniques.
He also carries out more complex and delicate surgery such as skin grafts and eye operations.
