Four older cats with kidney problems are looking for a special someone to adopt them. Carolina, Theodore, Rosie and Pipsqueak are aged between seven and fourteen and are on a medicated food diet which means they can live a perfectly normal life.

Matt Pearson, Cat Adoption Officer, at The Mayhew said: “Although they’re older cats with kidney problems they have as much love and affection to give as other pets. They just need someone to take a chance on them and we can help with some of the costs of the medication food. As long as they’re getting the right food it’s not as scary as people may think.”

Carolina, (14) a Calico, was found abandoned on the streets and living in a cardboard box. Her feeder could no longer help so she ended up at The Mayhew. She is looking for love and a secure long term home. She can’t live with other cats and dogs but she can live with sensible teenagers. She’d love to live on a roof terrace.

Pipsqueak, (7) is a loveable black cat who arrived at The Mayhew ten months ago as her owner no longer had time for a cat. She is a quirky, playful girl who will be a loyal, affectionate companion. She can’t live with dogs, cats or children and would love a garden.

Theodore, (7) is an ex Mayhew cat whose owners are moving to a new home without a garden. This happy cuddly cat just loves attention and sitting on laps whilst giving super friendly head butts. He can’t live with other cats and dogs but can live with children as long as they are used to cats.

Rosie, (12) a sweet Tortoiseshell arrived here because of her owner’s ill health.  Rosie also has high blood pressure and needs medication for this. All she wants is to find a special someone to adopt her. She can’t live with dogs but can live with children if they’re used to cats. It’s not known if she can live with other cats.

Matt added: “It’s sad they’ve been overlooked because of their age and their kidney problems but if anyone would like to adopt these special pets please get in touch. They really deserve a second chance after what they’ve been through.”
