Stars and their Furry Friends out in Force for Tinsel & Tails

There was an abundance of glamour and gorgeous dogs at Mayhew’s Tinsel & Tails exclusive black tie fundraising evening at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Tuesday night.

The annual charity extravaganza, proudly sponsored by Pets Pyjamas and Barkers For Dogs, saw a host of celebrity supporters take to the red carpet to raise vital funds to help continue Mayhew’s work in the UK and overseas. This year’s star line-up included host Pandora Christie, Pete Wicks, Stephanie Pratt, Olivia Buckland, Alex Bowen, Beatie Edney, Ali Bastian, Hannah Spearritt, Harry Reid, Marc Abraham, Arielle Free, Wendy Turner Webster, Anneka Svenska, Carla Fraser and Lisa Garner and Plum Pudding.

Nearly 300 people attended the fundraiser in Holborn and we raised nearly £30,000 on the night, as guests enjoyed a three-course dinner, and were later treated to entertainment provided by BBC’s Pitch Battle contestants, The Noteables, an award winning pop chamber choir directed by comedian, Vikki Stone.

Guests and celebrities also enjoyed the opportunity to bid for an array of money can’t buy experiences at the event’s exclusive auction. There was a brilliant selection of prizes including tickets to a film premiere in the West End, 1995 Classic BMW driving experience at Silverstone and VIP tickets to The Play That Goes Wrong.

A video that showcased the work of Mayhew and the animals and people we help was shown on the night. It featured the ongoing work we do out in the community providing support to vulnerable pet owners and homeless animals, to help prevent more animals ending up in the shelter environment. It also provided an insight into the animal charity’s vital work overseas.

Mayhew’s CEO, Caroline Yates, said: “It was a fantastic night and we raised an incredible amount. Tinsel & Tails is always a fantastic event, bringing together our dogs, guests, supporters and celebrity friends for one night only.”

“The fundraiser was a great opportunity to highlight Mayhew’s range of proactive community outreach work including our onsite vet clinic, addressing animal welfare cases, working with the homeless and our ground-breaking work in Afghanistan.”

“We receive no lottery or government funding, so rely solely on the generous donations of our supporters. The money raised from the evening will go towards us helping more animals in need in the UK and overseas.”
